Working my way back

I KNOW! It's been a while...

I've just decided that I am going to start and work backwards to catch up on all the goods from the summer.

So here goes...
We were invited by our friends, the Bair's, a few weeks ago to spend some time at their cabin. Let me just say that it was a much needed getaway. We only stayed one night, but it was so fun and refreshing! I worked the night before and came home and we left as soon as I walked in the door. I ended up staying awake for pretty much 36 hours straight (minus a couple of one-hour naps).
We rode 4-wheelers, roasted marshmallows, talked, laughed, played games and went swimming.
I can honestly say that the men deserved some "man time" and they were able to take a 4- wheeler ride together and go golfing.

At one point we landed ourselves at this perfect little swimming spot in a cool creek.
The water was pretty chilly, but the kids(by this I mean little and BIG) loved every minute of it.
There were endless rocks to throw, seriously a boy's dream.

See what I mean by kids?!

Pierce passed on the swimming and decided to take an afternoon snooze in the shade.

Let me just add that it pretty much got to be go time when there was a snake spotted.
Let's not go into detail in this post about my fear of snakes... but please just understand that
I HATE SNAKES!
I got packing as soon as my husband pulled that disgusting thing from the water.
There aren't, and never will be any pictures.
(I have goose-bumps and my feet are up on the chair as we speak)

Pierce went for a quick mini-dip after his nap and then we were OUTTA there :0

We spent that evening back in the safety of the cabin.
The kids were all thrown in the tub and the sand washed from every crack and crevice then put to bed.
The adults stayed up until 2:00 am laughing hysterically, arguing moderately, and competing fiercely while playing games.

The next morning we cleaned up and headed for home.

But not before making one last stop to feed some fish.

But we had to get home because we had things that needed our attention.

I don't know what they would do without us.
